I’m looking for recommendations!

For years my wife and I have watched movies and TV shows on a projector with a set of Sennheiser wireless headphones. Now that the kids are getting older, we’re starting to watch movies together. So far we’ve managed with a cheap old Bluetooth speaker, but I’d like to get a proper soundbar instead. It’s gotta be a wireless soundbar since the projector is behind us, opposite the wall where the image is displayed. However aficionados all recommend wired solutions instead. What would you recommend? I don’t need anything fancy, just something that’s good enough to watch movies with the kids, without any sound delay. Is that even something I need to worry about?
