To help preserve a safe Internet for content creators, we’ve just launched a brand new “easy button” to block all AI bots. It’s available for all customers, including those on our free tier.

Declare your AIndependence: block AI bots, scrapers and crawlers with a single click

I’m definitely turning this on and giving this a try on my sites today. I had built a little plugin to automatically add many AI bots to my sites’ robots.txt, but since they apparently do not respect that setting I’m going all in and blocking them entirely.

I’ve been happy with CloudFlare’s offerings over the years, and this is just one more reason I’m happy to use their services (even though I’m aware of the dangers of a larger and larger chunk of the Internet using a single service like CloudFlare).
