A few years ago I offered a Google Nest Mini to my daughter. Up until a few days ago, I would have told you it was a really good idea. She discovered lots of different music genres, in different languages, discovered famous artists and bands, old and new. It’s been super interesting to see her music tastes evolve.

And then YouTube Music started recommending techno to her. Look, I get it. I used to listen to techno music as a teenager. I remember staying up on Saturday nights to record tapes from DJs doing techno sets on the radio. I now respect my parents a bit more for having to put up with that.

I’m not going to link or upload any audio to go with this post. I’ll just say that Papaya, a techno remix with minion voices, is really starting to get on my nerves!
